Enhance your piano-playing experience with the Pneumatic Piano Bench, a versatile duet bench that offers exceptional comfort, stability, and durability. This premium piano bench measures 32 inches in length and 12.5 inches in width, with an adjustable height range of 18.5 to 23 inches, ensuring an ergonomic fit for every pianist. The gas pneumatic mechanism allows for smooth and easy adjustment of the height--simply turn the lever to raise and lower the bench.

Key Features:

  • Pneumatic Height Adjustment: Effortlessly adjust the bench height using the built-in gas pneumatic mechanism, offering smooth transitions from 18.5 to 23 inches for optimal playing posture.
  • Solid Steel Construction: Built with a university-grade, reinforced steel frame for long-lasting support and stability.
  • Adjustable Rubber Feet: Each leg features adjustable rubber feet, eliminating wobble and providing a firm grip on uneven surfaces.
  • Luxurious Comfort: The 2 3/4" ultra-thick cushion is covered in premium European black vinyl, designed with square corners to maximize seating space and ensure long-term comfort during extended practice or performance sessions.
  • Simple Assembly: The bench arrives with minimal assembly required—simply attach the legs using the included wrench. Each bench is securely packaged to prevent damage during shipping.

Ideal for All Players: The gas pneumatic system works similarly to an office chair’s mechanism. To lower the seat, apply weight (minimum of 130 lbs) and adjust the knob or lever; release when not seated to raise the bench effortlessly. The bench supports up to 600 lbs.

Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 32" L x 12.5" W, adjustable height from 18.5" to 23"
  • Material: University-grade solid steel frame with reinforced center support
  • Cushion: 2 3/4" thick, European premium vinyl
  • Color: Black
  • Adjustable Feet: Rubber feet on each leg for floor protection and stability

Pneumatic vs Hydraulic Adjustment Mechanisms:

The lift mechanism is called pneumatic, as it is controlled by two nitrogen gas cylinders. Hydraulic benches, operate on the same principle, but use oil based cylinders. By turning the knob half way the cylinders are activated and the bench will go down if you are sitting on the bench, and if there is no weight on the bench it will raise up. Please note average weight required for the mechanism to work is 115lbs., so a small child cannot adjust the bench down easily. You have to sit on the bench or help them by applying pressure on the cushion for the seat to go down. In general however, both are great options for your piano bench, with the pneumatic being the more common system found.

For those interested a more detailed explanation comparing the two adjustment mechanisms, both pneumatic and hydraulic mechanisms are used in adjustable chairs and benches, to provide height adjustability. However, there are some key differences between the two mechanisms.

A pneumatic mechanism uses compressed air to provide the force required for height adjustment. The mechanism typically consists of a cylinder that contains a piston and a gas or air chamber. When the user activates the lever or button to adjust the height, air is released from the chamber, which allows the piston to move up or down. This movement is what allows the chair to be adjusted to the desired height.

A hydraulic mechanism, on the other hand, uses a liquid, usually oil, to provide the force for height adjustment. The mechanism consists of a cylinder that contains a piston and an oil chamber. When the user activates the lever or button to adjust the height, the oil is released from the chamber, which allows the piston to move up or down. This movement is what allows the chair to be adjusted to the desired height.

In terms of performance, both mechanisms are capable of providing smooth and easy height adjustment. However, pneumatic mechanisms tend to be more common in adjustable benches as they are generally easier to operate and maintain, and they tend to be more reliable over the long term.
