Jansen Heavy Duty Upright Piano Dollies J4010
Jansen Heavy Duty Upright Piano Dollies J4010 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The J-4010 Jansen heavy duty upright piano dollies are designed to easily move your heavy studio and upright pianos. Equipped with 5" ball bearing casters, the heavy-duty all-steel frame construction gives years of trouble-free service. Manufactured in the United States by Jansen, these are the highest-quality piano dollies available on the market, and perfect for schools, churches, concert halls, professional studios, and home use. The upgraded large 5" rubber wheels make moving the piano much easier--including over bumpy surfaces, thresholds and carpet (standard dollies come with 2.5" diameter wheels). Crafted with industrial-grade materials, the Jansen J-4010 dolly is built to endure the rigors of frequent use, ensuring unmatched durability and reliability.
Sold as a set of two.
Each dolly in the set is engineered to distribute the piano’s weight evenly, reducing strain on floors while protecting them from scratches and dents.
Why Choose Jansen J-4010 Piano Dollies?
- Effortless piano transport over any surface, including carpets, hardwood floors, and tile
- Larger 5" Rubber Wheels.
- Made in the USA with premium craftsmanship and durable materials
- Perfect for professional and high-traffic environments, and for larger, heavier pianos.
A unique feature of these Upright Dollies is that the wheels are bolted onto the frame instead of being welded--this allows the wheels to be easily replaced or upgraded in the future, if ever required.
We recommend the locking wheel option for pianos in high traffic areas, such as schools or churches, to provide additional safety and stability, while also keeping your piano firmly in place when performing.
If you have a heavier upright piano, such as a Yamaha U1, U2 or U3, you will need these larger dollies (the smaller J4009 dollies won't be able to safely support the weight and easily transport your piano).
Please note we will need the make and model of your upright piano, as manufacturing likes to verify the correct dolly was selected and that no modifications need to be made to the vertical piano dollies. The third box from the above menus allows you to type in your piano's make and model.
The swivel casters (wheels) on all Jansen dollies are equipped with ball bearings, making it much easier to move the piano. The density of the rubber wheels is designed to support the weight of your piano, while also protecting the finish of your floors and preventing damage. Our upgraded casters make for a smoother, quieter, and quicker move of the piano. This eliminates the common frustrations with cheaper dollies, which often have smaller, lower-quality wheels that leave marks and make maneuvering difficult (the upgraded Jansen casters really make a difference when moving the piano).

Secure the Piano to the Dollies:
If the piano will be staying on the dolly permanently, and you are looking for additional safety and stability (for example in a school/church), Jansen allows you the option of securing the piano to the dollies. There are four pre-drilled holes on the back, and two holes on the bottom of the dolly, and the user can attach the piano to the dolly via lag bolts, wood screws, or bolts. Note you would be attaching the rear of the piano to the dolly, not the front.

What sets Jansen piano dolly wheels apart from other brands?
Jansen uses high-quality, dense rubber that won’t crack, flatten, or leave marks over time. Unlike cheaper wheels made with hard, brittle rubber, ours maintain their shape under heavy weight and roll smoothly across hardwood, tile, or carpet — protecting your floors and your piano.
Are larger piano dolly wheels better for moving pianos?
Are larger piano dolly wheels better for moving pianos?
Yes. Jansen uses oversized wheels that make it easier to move heavy pianos across carpet, tile, or hardwood — reducing strain and preventing damage. Our competition uses smaller, more inexpensive wheels, making it more difficult to move your piano.
